Start off on the right foot as soon as you walk through the door with these functional farmhouse entry spaces! Entryways should be aesthetically pleasing *and* functional to cut down on clutter. The following 10 entryways are both!
You can’t go wrong with cubbies for the kiddos! Individual cubbies for each family member and baskets underneath keep shoes out of the doorway and out of sight!
Shanty 2 Chic shares her plans for the farmhouse bench pictured below. Add hooks to mimic the functionality of cubbies, cozy pillows and woven baskets and your entryway is suddenly superb!
Narrow entryway? No worries- a mounted shelf can hold keys and library books that need to be returned. Beautiful corbels soften the rustic look of the oversized window mirror.
A DIY bench made to fit galvanized bins creates perfect storage for shoes, winter gear, summer necessities and anything else you can think of! A fluffy pillow and a cozy throw complete the space – not to mention this fabulous chalkboard!
This cozy entryway is perfect with storage baskets underneath and a beautiful accent chair. The chair is perfect to sit in while waiting for the kids after school and it is easy to move into your living area when you need additional seating for guests.
Another narrow entryway that makes an amazing first impression. The reclaimed wood table is a space for keys and phones, and the arrangement of simple white hydrangeas welcomes you into this home.

Liz Marie does it again with this hall tree made from an old door that is a fantastic idea for homes that do not have traditional entryways. The storage bench and coat hooks eliminate a pileup in front of the door. This hall tree can have you organized in no time if you are not a DIY’er!
Yellow entryway cubbies and stow-away bench are a nice pop of color while adding 11 storage spaces- plenty for families of all sizes! Across the entryway is the family command center with more storage and individual “mailboxes” for important papers. This cubby set is not exactly the same, but offers coat hooks and backpack storage in addition to wall cubbies and a bench.
This entryway has just about everything you need to stay organized: a dry erase calendar, a large chalkboard for your “to do” list, wall-mounted mail bins with hooks for your keys and a place to sit. Add a basket for shoes and you’re all set!
Another DIY to create an entryway in homes without one. The use of reclaimed wood and oversized hooks gives this a farmhouse feel and the boot tray keeps water off the wood floors, and the step stool provides seating. No time to DIY? No worries- this rustic barn wood coat rack is perfect!
