Spider Plants
Another promising description: These plants do well with minimal care. Sounds good to me! They also develop shoots, so if you don’t kill it, you can replant the shoots and give them to others who struggle to keep plants alive.
Ponytail Palm
This is a fun one! To quote the listing description, “As long as you don’t overwater it, the plant is virtually indestructible.” Challenge accepted.
Rubber Plant
These plants have lovely, large, dark green leaves and can grow to 8′ tall, assuming you don’t kill them in their early years. They prefer to be watered 1-2 times per week in the summer and 1-2 times per month in the winter. With fewer than 50 waterings a year, if you have space, the Rubber Plant may work for you!
Silver Satin Pothos
What a pretty plant! Great for beginners, these plants prefer indirect light and not a lot of water.
Aglaonema Silver Bay Chinese Evergreen
I am really liking these grey & green leaves! This aglaonema requires little to no maintenance, making it my kind of houseplant!

Update: So, I ended up purchasing a spider plant and a ponytail palm and guess what? They are still alive! I water them 3-4 times a month. So far, so good! I also bought quite a few succulents, too. When I clean my house on Fridays, I gather all of the plants and succulents and put them in my kitchen sink. I spray them with water to water them and let the pots dry in the sink while I clean. It’s super easy and a good reminder to water the plants.
Fun Planters & Pots
Of course, if you’re going to have houseplants for decor, you need cute planters and pots! These are some of my favorites from Amazon.
I love these tiny ceramic pots for succulents! This would be such a great gift for a girlfriend…or your mom!
Ceramic Embossed Floral Planter
Have you noticed that alpacas and llamas are everywhere lately? They are so fun! I bought my daughter the cutest llama bath towels recently! Anyway, this little alpaca planter is too cute!
This is the same stoneware pig planter I have and it is so cute! I have it loaded with succulents on sitting on the open shelving in my kitchen.
I love the color blue of this planter! It’s such a serene color. It would look really pretty in a bathroom.
This fun yellow pot set would add brightness to any day!
