These Campfire Cones from Hip2Save are super healthy because they have bananas and berries! <wink> <wink> Ok, maybe not, but they ARE super fun and can be made on a grill or in the oven. No fire necessary, just the way I like it. This would be so much fun for a group of kids or even as a Father’s Day treat!
Your camp-at-home adventure can’t only be about dessert, which is why these foil-wrapped Camping Hot Dogs are so perfect! Forget the fire- you can make these in the oven so easily and insert the skewer after they are cooked. Easy peasy!
Skillet meals are a camping staple, but you don’t need to be camping to enjoy an amazing skillet meal! Check out these Buffalo Chicken + Kettle Chip Nachos…if you’ve never had kettle chip nachos, you are missing out and need to have some immediately. Our favorite new restaurant bar has the most amazing kettle chip nachos. They are soooo good. I’d never had them until this year! I think I prefer them to regular nachos. <hides> Anyway, while you may cook in a skillet while you are camping, it probably wouldn’t be to make nachos. So there’s another vote for skipping camping and having fun camp food at home! If you do not own a skillet, they are surprisingly inexpensive- especially knowing how pricey pots & pans can get! Be sure to get a pre-seasoned skillet, and remember they cannot go in the dishwasher because they rust.
Grilled corn is always a campfire favorite and this recipe is no different! You can easily make this recipe on your grill. Ditch the butter and add sriracha mayo and a squeeze of lime instead. YUM.
With these recipe ideas you can definitely stay out of the woods and still have a great time. IMO, it’s a better time: your own bed, no bugs, no 1/4 mile walk to the loo at 3am….
If you do decide you must camp, you may want to consider camping in Michigan and checking out some of these Amazing Waterfalls You Won’t Believe are in Michigan! They are truly amazing!
Happy (not) camping!
