Hot days call for cold drinks, and these drinks look amazing! We live on a lake and have visitors throughout the summer, so I am always looking for fun new drinks to try with our friends. We also enjoy an evening cocktail on our pontoon boat with our neighbors on occasion, too, and they are always up to trying a new drink!
Here are the top 5 drinks I’ve seen on Pinterest that we will be trying asap!
Blackberry Lemon Gin & Tonic
This looks a.maz.ing! I have never had a G&T before, so I am excited to try this soon. This looks so refreshing and flavorful, and I love the bright color of the purple!
INGREDIENTS (MAKES 4 COCKTAILS):
- 12 blackberries
- 20 mint leaves (Extra for garnish)
- 2 lemons (Extra for garnish)
- 1/4 cup simply syrup
- 12 ounces Hendrix Gin
- Tonic water
- Ice
See the gin & tonic recipe here.
Strawberry Pineapple Mimosas
These are definitely going on the list for this weekend! We are putting the boat in the water and these will be the perfect drink for Sunday morning when my daughter is here. She loooooves mimosas and this will be a nice change with the pineapple! The fresh strawberries add a nice touch and bring some color to the glass.
- 1 1/2 cups orange juice
- 1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
- 1 (750 mL) bottle sparkling white wine, chilled
- 1/2 cup strawberries, thinly sliced
See the mimosa recipe here.
Strawberry Lemonade Beer
I’ve had Beergaritas before (omgoodness….soooo good!!!) but never beer lemonade. I think my hubby would love this! He is a beer drinking lemonade fan, therefore this is moving to the top of the “must try” list!
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb strawberries, cleaned and cut into chunks
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup lemonade
3 light beers*
3 cups ice, or more
1 lemon, cut in slices
See lemonade recipe here.
Blueberry Margaritas
Michigan is a blueberry state, so naturally these made the list! I usually prefer blended margaritas, but I think I am going to have to broaden my horizons because blender drinks take way too long when you’re serving a crowd! It seems like these may be the perfect summer drink with the lime and blueberries. I am loving the fun colors of these drinks!
FOR THE BLUEBERRY SIMPLE SYRUP:
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
FOR THE MARGARITAS:
- 1 part blueberry simple syrup
- 1 part tequila
- 1 part margarita mix
- 1/2 part triple sec
- Splash lime juice
- Granulated sugar and kosher salt, for rimming glasses
- Optional: Fresh blueberries and lime slices for garnish
See the margarita recipe here.
Tropical Rum Punch
And finally – Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! This drink will transport you to the tropics, even if you’re in suburbia. I like big drinks and I cannot lie! These look super fun with for late afternoon drinks with appetizers. And who doesn’t love cherries in their drink?
- 1 cup Blue Chair Bay Coconut Rum
- 2 cups orange juice
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- 2 cups ginger ale
- 1 cup grenadine or cherry syrup
- Orange and lemon slices, maraschino cherries for garnish
See the rum recipe here.
Don’t those drinks look awesome?! It’s hard to pick one to start with, but I am up for the challenge. With the upcoming holiday weekend I am thinking we can make a dent in this list. 😉
