Week 7 was kind of a weird week- I’ve been super busy with other life issues, so week 7 I didn’t do much on the blog. I’m trying to get caught up on some yard work at our cottage. After 40+ years of hodgepodge plantings, it’s quite a mess! So that means I didn’t work on the blog much, I didn’t Pin much, and truth be told, I even fell behind with Tailwind and as a result, NOTHING was pinned yesterday until late afternoon when I thought “I should check Tailwind…” Whoops! That said, we are up to 3.6 million monthly Pinterest viewers and yesterday was our highest page views day EVER with a little more than 2,000 views! Hubby wants me to explain how page views and monthly Pinterest viewers are up, but I didn’t do anything with the blog. Honest truth? I have no idea. Zip, Zero, Zilch. I can’t explain it, and I can’t find any blog posts to explain it, so I guess we will see what happens this week after I spend some time on the blog again! The only thing I can think of is that I changed from pinning 50 times a day on Tailwind to 99. Since at least 80% of those pins are other peoples’ pins, and not my own, it doesn’t seem like that would account for the increase, but maybe?
I thought I would compare where we were one month ago compared to now. On April 18th, the blog was 18 days old and we had 334,000 monthly Pinterest viewers:
One month later, on May 18th, we are up to 3.6 million monthly Pinterest viewers! We are quite surprised by this growth!
We are also up to 516 Pinterest followers! I am thrilled! I was shooting for 500 by today (May 20th) and we exceeded that number. Not bad at all!
I am hoping to sign up for the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing class this week, but I am so swamped I may have to hold off. But I also need to start making more than $.93/day, so I guess I should prioritize (or sleep less, lol!) and take the class sooner rather than later…. (The fact that Michelle, the Making Sense of Cents genius, just went from traveling the country living in an RV to traveling the coast living on a boat is pretty inspirational, since that is our dream goal!)
That said, we are up to $35.29 in ad money! Today was a banner day at just over $6. (And 2,500 page views! Our best day yet!) My goal is to reach $60-70 a day asap to somewhat replace the income I was making prior to jumping full time into Blogville. But I’ll take $6 because it’s a great start at just 3-4 weeks into having ads on the site.
If anyone knows what my “next steps” should be to capitalize on this Pinterest growth I am all ears and would LOVE to hear any advise you can throw my way. I feel like I should be monetizing it somehow, but I have no idea how.

Until next week~
Happy blogging!
