Everyone loves a Super Bowl party, and whether you are hosting or attending, it is definitely a day that should be filled with appetizers and snacks. Even if your team didn’t make it all the way to the end <sniff, Bears> the Super Bowl is a much needed excuse to get together with friends on a Sunday afternoon of laughs and good eats. So what will YOU make this year? I’m already thinking about it! We’ll attend a party at a friend’s house- something I’ve missed out on the last two years, so I am more than ready! (But am I ready enough to make one of those enormously impressive, yet completely intimidating food “stadiums?” We’ll see – stay tuned to my Instagram because if I make one it is definitely going on there! The odds are better than Parkey making a 43 yard field goal attempt… Too soon, Bears fans? Just when you think we have a shot…)
I guess we may as well start with some stadium inspired inspiration! These are a.maz.ing.
Stadium Snacks
Up first, this totally over-the-top stadium from All Created that was featured on Delish! This is super impressive, and if you look at the link it’s really not that difficult at all. If you’re hosting a crowd, especially a crowd with kids, this is a feast for a crowd!
If that stadium isn’t over the top enough for you, and you want to commit to either always hosting or always bringing the stadium, this reusable stadium is epic, just like its title: How to Make an Epic Reusable Wooden Snack Stadium. Instructions included! Regardless of who wins the game, you will win the party with this.
Buffalo!
Too much? Then how about these Buffalo Chicken Meatballs? These look *amazing* and so much easier to make than wings! I love appetizers that don’t require my guests to have to clean up afterwards, so these are perfect. Even if buffalo chicken meatballs aren’t your thing, be sure to take a look at the great new blog So-Called Southern Life. Emily has lots of yummy recipes- for people AND pups!
Cheese Please
This cheeseball recipe is super easy & super good- plus, who doesn’t love a cheeseball? This is actually my Bacon Ranch Cheeseball recipe and one thing I love about it is you can make it the day before because it needs to chill for awhile anyway. (I am a huge fan of any foods that can be prepped in advance. Life is busy!) The bacon + ranch combo is always a hit. Form it into a football shape & make “laces” out of the remaining green peppers for a fun game day treat!
What’s a party without sliders? I find myself making these next two slider recipes over & over again. They are so good, super easy to make, the recipe makes a lot for a crowd and everyone loves them.
Never Too Much Dip…
You can’t have a party without spinach dip, and this football shaped spinach dip is perfect for a Super Bowl party. It’s Always Autumn uses refrigerated pizza dough and includes a football-shaped template to make this easy appetizer.
Sliders!
Up first: Easy French Dip Sliders from one of my absolute favorite food bloggers, Chelsea’s Messy Apron. (She has seriously awesome recipes, most of which are easy, too!) Loaded with roast beef & provolone, these sliders are perfection. <yum>
Next: Ham & Swill Sliders. It’s funny, but I would *never* put pickles on a ham sandwich, but the little pickle on each of these sliders makes a huge difference and they are so good! I add poppyseed to the butter-dijon mixture, but you don’t have to.
^^ These are DEVOURED every time I make them.
Poppers that POP
I’ve mentioned before that we have The Best neighbors at our cottage in Michigan. We’re used to having absolutely insane (not even kidding) neighbors, so to have great neighbors on either side of us is a real treat, even if it does cause me to think we’re the crazy ones now… Anyway, my neighbor makes these awesome bacon-wrapped jalapenos that are ridiculously easy to make & only use three ingredients. He doesn’t have a blog, but I found the recipe on Pinterest anyway. Head over to Sweet & Savory by Shinee for 3-Ingredient Jalapeno Poppers and plan on at least doubling this recipe. You can’t eat just one! (Did you know jalapenos aren’t hot if you remove all of the seeds? Yup- even kids will eat them!)
I am loving roasted corn lately! I love it in chowder, as a side, and especially in this Roasted Corn and Cheese Dip from Little Bits Of! This dip uses Greek yogurt for the base, so it’s totally healthy, too. 😉 (Just ignore the cheese and bacon…) Leave out the bacon for a veggie friendly appetizer.
When you have a vegetarian in the family, you’re always on the look out for yummy new recipes for them to try. One of our go-to’s for my veggie daughter is crostini. It’s easy to make and seems to always be a crowd pleaser. This Mushroom & Goat Cheese Crostini looks as good as it tastes! I *love* goat cheese, but unfortunately no one else in my family does. Good thing my husband travels quite a bit for work otherwise I’d never get it!
Crostini
Pinwheels
Would you believe I just started making these pinwheels? I know they’ve been around for at least a hundred years, but I was never a fan of tortillas until this past summer! <I’m weird like that> These Rainbow Veggie Pinwheels are so colorful, thanks to the fact that they are LOADED with veggies! You can add cooked shredded chicken, too, or leave it out for your veggie guests.
What do you think? Are you ready for some football? I am!
